How The World Works
Central Idea:
PEOPLE´S ACTIONS IMPACT OUR WORLD´S DRINKABLE WATER SUPPLY.
Water Consumption Reflection
I found out 2 things. (1) In the U.S.A, a person uses about 100 gallons per day. (2) An average Australian uses about 90 gallons per day. I was not surprised. In fact, I expected this. I guessed that the U.S.A uses more because we are a 1st world country. People here think they can use as much water as they want as long as they can afford it. But people in other countries that are 3rd world countries care about there water because they do not have much. I really think we can cut out our water uses.
Backyard Habitat Water Reflection:
We tested water to see if it was healthy and/or drinkable. We tested for high amounts of D.O (Dissolved Oxygen). Low amounts means the water is polluted. We were expecting, or we wanted, 4-8 ppm's of D.O. Sadly, we had a deadly amount, 2ppm. With all the tests, bacteria, chlorine, copper, hardness, iron, nitrate, pH, phosphate, temperature, and D.O., I conclude or think that that this is a bad environment. Mostly good but bad. We contribute negatively because we leave our trash in our habitat and pollute it. But the rest we do good. Back at the beginning of this unit, Mrs.Lieu showed us a video. The video was about Mrs.Anderson. she was going to drink the habitat water. I would nit drink it because it was dirty.
